Today's (1 December 2008) front page article in the Glasgow Herald on Personal Licences does not mean that Licensees should panic if they have still to lodge their Personal Licence applications under the 2005 Act.
Instead, it should be taken as a timely reminder that applications must be lodged and processed by the appropriate Licensing Boards in time for the 2005 Act coming into force on 1 September 2009.
Licensees must also remember that the identity of the Premises Manager (who must hold a valid Personal Licence) must be intimated to the Licensing Boards in the correct format before 1 September 2009.
