Corporate Crime

  • In 2007, Clare Bone represented clients in nine Health & Safety prosecutions, six of those being prosecutions on indictment in Sheriff and Jury proceedings. In three of those cases, Clare was contacted a matter of days after the incident to represent the client’s interests in the HSE investigations.

  • Involvement in professional disciplinary work acting on behalf of medical practitioners and chiropractors, defending complaints made against them to the General Medical Council and General Chiropractic Council respectively.

  • Assisted an organisation in relation to employees suspected of committing fraud and embezzlement.

  • Raised civil proceedings to inhibit employees from disposing of their property pending investigation by the authorities.

  • Racalling a restraint order against a client under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 at the Court of Session.

  • Defending successfully both suppliers and sellers of toys and other products in respect of criminal proceedings raised against them by Trading Standards.

  • Acting on behalf of directors, sole traders and individuals, all facing investigation and prosecution for various health and safety offences.

  • Advising in relation to the parallel importing of goods into the EU.

  • Advising in relation to the "CE marking" Regulations.

  • Advising in relation to liability under the Data Protection Act.
  • Acting on behalf of Chartered Accountants facing disciplinary proceedings before the Institute of Chartered Accountants for Scotland.
