20 May 2015
On Saturday 16 May, we (Ailie McGowan and Joelle Gerber), as part of a seven strong team of cycling solicitors from bto, took on a challenging ride to raise funds for our chosen charity—Yorkhill Children’s Charity.
Yorkhill Children’s Charity treats over 160,000 babies, children and young people every year. Their vision is for Sick Children to have the best care and experience possible.
A few of bto’s finest cyclists (Mark Morton, Peter Graham and Tim Webster) showed us young ones how to do it by taking on the 72 mile route from Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow up to Glen Douglas before returning to the city.
We took on the (not to be sniffed at) 35 mile route along with colleagues Angus Crawford and Carly Forrest. Despite the challenging weather conditions, we all pushed through and displayed great team spirit along the way. With a few cheers from other charity cyclists we made it home in just over three and a half hours.
All of our hard work was worth it as we have managed to raise an impressive £1,900 for Yorkhill Children’s Charity.
A big ‘thank you’ to everyone who encouraged and supported us.
Keep an eye on our News feed for future events in which bto will be participating to raise money for our chosen charity.
