13 July 2017
Today the government published the European Union (Withdrawal) Bill (formerly known as the Great Repeal Bill).
To read the publication click here.
The bill will not be debated until autumn, however it is expected that the government will face difficulty in its attempt to push the bill through parliament. Opposition parties have expressed alarm that the bill includes a clause that provides that the charter of fundamental rights will not be part of domestic law on or after exit day. We will be following the bill’s passage through parliament closely.
