Stealing Ideas – Unravelling Copyright” proved to be a hit at Paul Motion’s Edinburgh Fringe show on 12 August. Numbers were up on last year and audience questions ranged from musical parodies, to new play scripts and choreography copyright issues.
“Stealing Ideas – Unravelling Copyright” isn’t the only ‘fringe’ benefit” bto is associated with. btoclient Daniel Sloss, a rising young Scottish star of stand-up comedy, has been given his own television pilot show. “The Adventures of Daniel” will air on BBC online as of Monday 16 August and transmit on BBC3, Monday 23 August at 9.30pm.
Daniel Sloss is currently performing at the Edinburgh Fringe in “My Generation” [Pleasance Dome, 6.40pm, 10 – 30 August]. He was referred to bto by his agent MZA whose legal work is already handled by bto.
“Young Sloss already has a BBC3 sitcom pilot in the bag, and, if he continues improving at this rate, he will prove unstoppable” said the Daily Telegraph critic on 10 August 2010.
Paul said: “I’m delighted today’s show went well for us. It makes a change to be ‘performing’ instead of advising performers! I can’t claim to entertain quite as well as Daniel does, nor to pull in the size of audience his shows attract. I am delighted his talent has been recognised with the TV pilot which is well deserved. I’ll watch it and maybe pick up some tips since I’m presenting “Small Print – Big Problem?” at Fringe Central on 26 August: it’s quite a challenge to make contract law entertaining.”
