Tony Jones QC was appointed a Queen’s Counsel in September 2017. Since 1993, only four civil Solicitor Advocates have been granted the rank and dignity of Queen’s Counsel. Tony is the fifth, representing a major achievement within the Scottish legal profession (click here to read press release).
Tony Jones qualified as a solicitor in 1991 and as a Solicitor Advocate with extended rights of audience in the Supreme Court, Privy Council and the Court of Session in 1999. He is one of Scotland’s most frequently appearing civil solicitor advocates with over 40 reported decisions to his name. Tony accepts instructions direct from clients as well as from other solicitors.

Tony heads BTO ADVantage advocacy service, which includes 20 solicitor advocates, giving BTO’s clients access to an in-house advocacy service capable of providing representation in all of Scotland’s civil and criminal courts, from the Sheriff courts to the Supreme Court and Privy Council.
