Willie became Chairman of bto on 1st April 2008, having served as Managing Partner of the firm since 1997. He joined the firm as an apprentice in 1978.
After several years in the commercial litigation arena, he turned his hand to commercial property work, particularly in the leisure sector, and handled the acquisition and disposal of dozens of hotels and sporting estates.
Over the years, he has acted also for a number of leading financial institutions, specialising in secured property recoveries.
Now chairs the firm’s Management Group and is involved in strategic planning and implementation.
After Hours
Former International football referee. Keen, but declining, golfer at the East Renfrewshire, Prestwick St. Nicholas & Western Gailes Golf Clubs. After dinner speaker at all sorts of events in all sorts of places, ranging from Cumnock to Cairo. Makes occasional contributions to radio and TV football programmes.
