Louise has been involved in insurers’ representation for over 18 years and clients appreciate the fact that she is “always meticulously well prepared and a delight to work with.” (Chambers UK 2010).

Louise’s practice is now exclusively in catastrophic injury work.  She leads a “strong and personable” team and is described as “a serious player” in the sector by peers. Louise has been appointed by various leading UK insurers to their “superpanel” dealing with their highest value claims. She also deals with the Specialist and Large Loss teams of a variety of insurers. In addition to representing a number of UK composite insurers, Louise is instructed by European, Japanese and American insurers.

Her expertise is in large value claims arising from public liability, employers’ liability, product liability and motor claims. This gives rise to claims involving brain injury, paraplegia/tetraplegia and other spinal conditions, amputations, psychiatric and psychological disorders as well as fatalities. She also deals with related road traffic and Health & Safety prosecutions as well as Fatal Accident Inquiries for a wide range of clients.

Louise deals with litigation in the Court of Session in Edinburgh and throughout the Sheriff Courts in Scotland but is instructed increasingly to deal with claims in advance of formal proceedings.
