6 April 2006: Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006 - More comprehensive TUPE coverage for contracting out and services transfer situations. This also changes the information which is to be provided prior to a “relevant transfer” taking place.
1 October 2006: Employment Equality (Age) Regulations 2006 - Outlaws age discrimination in employment and removes upper age limits on the right to claim unfair dismissal and redundancy payments.
1 October 2006: National minimum wage for workers aged 22 and over, £5.35 per hour. Workers aged 18-21 and those aged 22 and over doing accredited training in first six months of employment, £4.45 per hour. Workers aged 16 and 17, £3.30 per hour.
