12% rise in Pre-Action Protocol Fees
The fees which solicitors can recover for cases which are settled extra judicially by way of the pre action protocol are to rise by 12%. The new rates will apply to cases which settle from 1 July 2009 until 31 December 2010. The fees for settlements below £1,500 will increase from £320 to £358 and from £700 to £783 for cases with higher settlement values. The instruction fee under the Professional Negligence Protocol will increase from £900 to £1006.
Credit Hire
AA and Saga have launched their own in-house credit hire arm.
