Event description :

So far 2008 has seen numerous important employment law developments, including a number of important decisions made by the Tribunals and Courts.  There is little sign of matters slowing down. This seminar aims to provide delegates with an overview of 2008’s employment law hot topics.  Issues which we anticipate covering include:

  • What is the current position with regard to determining who, in law, is an “employee”?
  • What is the current case law position with the statutory grievance and disciplinary procedures?
  • What does the future hold for the statutory grievance and disciplinary procedures?
  • What recent discrimination cases have there been and what practical lessons can be learned?
  • Are equal pay claims something about which employers need to be concerned?
  • Unfair dismissal and employment rights: What developments have there been?

We also aim to look ahead to 2009 and consider what further developments may be on the horizon.  One thing we know only too well is that employment law never stands still!
