Event description :
Following the positive response to our Spring 2008 employment seminar sessions on unfair dismissal, we are holding a repeat session focussing on the key issues. The seminar will deal with the most common employment law issue that arises in practice: How can employers dismiss employees fairly?
With employees’ increasing awareness of the right to claim unfair dismissal, and in light of the considerable body of case law that has developed in this area of law, an employer who decides to dismiss an employee faces the real prospect of a tribunal claim. This means, at best, considerable inconvenience and cost, and at worst, a potentially significant award of compensation being made against the employer.
- How can these risks be managed?
- When can employers dispense legitimately with the services of unwanted employees?
- What reasons might be acceptable?
