Charitable Recognition

In Scotland, the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR) is in charge of conferring charitable status. bto’s charities’ team can advise you as to whether or not your organisation will meet the charity test and the OSCR’s requirements.

We can assist with all the paperwork required for an application for charitable status.  This includes advice on the charity’s constitution and / or structure, associated policies and regulatory compliance requirements.

It should be remembered that if an organisation wishes to call itself a charity and it occupies property in Scotland or carries out activities in Scotland then it must register with OSCR.
