Claims against doctors and hospitals have been on the increase for a number of years. Handling such claims, particularly from the point of view of the medical, dental or nursing professionals involved is an extremely specialised area and bto has a successful track record in dealing with such claims.
The medical and dental negligence team at bto has considerable experience in representing principally the medical, dental and nursing professions in relation to damages claims, Fatal Accident Inquiries (FAIs) and in dealing with complaints against those professionals, in particular to the General Medical Council (GMC). In addition, we represent the medical professions in disciplinary proceedings brought by their employers and in NHS tribunals.
Prior to qualifying as solicitors, two members of the bto team practised as Registered General Nurses. bto also has a dental consultant to provide advice in relation to dental claims.
