Community Benefits and Procurement

bto’s team has produced procurement strategies for major projects and we are very familiar with the complex European regulations that can apply here. We have ensured that our client’s community benefit requirements are set out in procurement tender documentation and in subsequent contracts  in line with EU regulations.

For example, for a regeneration company putting in place significant construction contracts, we assisted our client working with a community enterprise project to impose community benefit provisions to achieve our client’s goal of improving employment opportunities through the construction work and employment of trainees and apprentices.

bto can advise both organisations wishing to consider including community benefits in contracts that are to be procured (whether under EU regulations or otherwise) and organisations that may wish to provide community benefit.
