BTO has announced the appointment of solicitor Drew McCusker to its Personal Injury team. Drew will work alongside Partner and Solicitor Advocate Stephen Bryceland.
Well-travelled Drew completed a Masters in Law in London before interning in the United Nations in Nairobi, Kenya. With his experiences in diplomatic liaison and international advocacy, Drew makes regular appearances in numerous courts and tribunals across Scotland. He is known for the importance that he places on client care, equality and providing a tailored legal service.
Drew is also an active advocate for equality and diversity, particularly in the legal profession. He is the founder and president of The Glass Network, Scotland’s organisation for LGBT+ legal professionals. He is also a member of the Law Society of Scotland’s Equality and Diversity Committee. In 2017, Drew was awarded Role Model of the Year at the Scottish Diversity Awards and also won the CSR Award at the Law Awards of Scotland. In 2019, Drew was a judge for the Law Awards of Scotland and, with The Glass Network, developed The Glass Charter, a simple and free framework designed specifically for law firms in Scotland to adopt and adapt to their own business needs without comprising on their support for LGBT+ equality, diversity and inclusion.
