Lynn joined BTO in August 2017. She works in Commercial Dispute Resolution, Technology and Intellectual Property and Data Protection Defence.
Lynn is WS Accredited in Commercial Litigation. She is described by her clients as a versatile and able civil litigator with strong advocacy, negotiating and drafting skills. Her experience covers a variety of legal areas, including intellectual property and data protection, breach of contract, professional negligence, and property litigation. Lynn is part of BTO’s Data Protection Defence Team and has been involved in providing data protection and freedom of information advice, in particular, for charities and employers. She has worked on a number of high profile cases including intellectual property disputes, both for and against major international companies.
Lynn has made countless successful appearances in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland including appeals before the Sheriff Principal and Sheriff Appeal Court, appearances before the Private Rented Housing Panel, Mental Health Tribunal, the Court of Session, and at mediation and arbitration. She also represented participants in the Fingerprint Inquiry Scotland, as well as the pursuers in a test case under the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 in relation to the regulation of access to waterways.
Lynn has been a director of the Scottish Society for Computers and Law since 2008 and is a member of The Intellectual Property Lawyers Organisation.
