Charlotte joined BTO in 2021 after spending 7 years with another firm pursuing personal injury claims. She has a varied experience of personal injury claims, having dealt with road traffic accidents, cycling accidents, employer liability claims, as well as both occupier and public liability claims. Charlotte has experience of handling cases in local Sheriff Courts, as well as the All Scotland Personal Injury Court.
Prior to completing her LL.B in Scotland in 2010, Charlotte spent time obtaining her LL.B (Hons) in English Law in 2003. She also studied and completed the Bar Vocational Course in 2005. Charlotte was called to the Bar as a member of Lincoln’s Inn in 2005.

Sophie joined the team in September 2020 following qualification into post however also spent several months working for the team during her traineeship.
In her qualified role, Sophie now focuses on the representation of clinicians in clinical negligence claims and regulatory investigations. Sophie has attended various hearings in both the sheriff courts and Court of Session as well as regulatory hearings before the General Medical Council and General Dental Council. She has also attended Fatal Accident Inquiries and two high profile public inquiries, having often carried out preparatory work for the same.
Sophie understands that the individuals she represents are often experiencing one of the most challenging periods in both their professional and personal lives. Her goal is to make this experience as stress-free as possible by providing a non-judgemental space for discussion and practical advice aimed at resolving the matter as quickly and efficiently as possible.
During her traineeship with BTO, Sophie also gained experience in the litigation and health & safety/regulatory teams within the firm. Her knowledge of criminal law in particular has provided her with an understanding of the criminal implications associated with allegations being made in a civil context.
Sophie is a member of the Scottish Young Lawyers Association and regularly attends their events. In her spare time she enjoys meeting up with family and friends and skiing when the opportunity arises!

Claire Logue is a construction law specialist in our construction team. As a dual qualified solicitor (Scotland and England & Wales), she has considerable experience representing clients in a variety of complex multi-million pound construction and engineering disputes in the Scottish courts and English courts, arbitration (international and domestic), mediation and adjudication. Claire believes in the benefits of alternative dispute resolution and regularly advises on risk management and dispute avoidance.
Claire also advises on contract procurement, risk allocation and contract negotiation.
With a degree in architecture and having spent time working for design practices both in the UK and Australia, Claire is well placed to understand the reality and complexity of her clients’ construction projects. Claire also holds an Institute of Chartered Accountants England & Wales Certificate in Insolvency.
