Lauren works within BTO’s commercial dispute resolution, intellectual property and data protection teams. Having trained with BTO, qualifying in 2013, she then spent several years working with a global law firm in London and Edinburgh. She is qualified to practice in Scotland, England and Wales and has experience litigating in Scotland and England.
Lauren has a particular interest in the creative industries and prior to qualifying as a solicitor, spent time working at Hearst Magazines in New York City. She has also recently completed a Master’s degree in Publishing, during which she completed a number of industry placements and acquired significant industry insight. As a result, she has a particular understanding of the business of publishing. In addition to work, Lauren is a committee member, and Events Officer, for the Society of Young Publishers.
