Congratulations to Nick Halls from Milnbank Housing Association, SHARE’s Learner of the Year for 2013.
Linda Sichi, Deputy Director of Milnbank Housing Association (pictured right), accepted the award on Nick’s behalf at SHARE’s recent AGM. The trophy was presented by Marion Davis, an Associate in the top ranked Social Housing team at bto solicitors, which sponsors this award.
As well as the handsome trophy, Nick will receive a cheque for £100. Nick is a local resident who has been a Committee member for three and a half years and he chairs Milnbank’s subsidiary company.
There were commendations for Gordon Mason of Forth Housing Association and Christine Madden of Whiteinch and Scotstoun Housing Association, both of whom also submitted full and well documented Learning Logs.
This is the second year of this award and now is the time for committee members to start recording their learning ready for submission in May 2014. Completion of a SHARE Learning Log is a convenient and easy way of showing that you are complying with the Scottish Housing Regulator’s requirement that committee members are getting the “training to sustain their continued effectiveness.”
Marion Davis said: “bto is delighted to support SHARE’s Learner of the Year award for a second time and to help committee members become more effective in their roles. Like SHARE, we are also committed to providing training to Housing Associations and their members.”
