Aaron Kane

Aaron is a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution team providing pragmatic, commercial, and high quality advice to businesses and individuals on both contentious and non-contentious issues.

He regularly advises BTO’s commercial clients on contract and property disputes, volume and high value debt recovery, property management disputes, and corporate and boardroom litigation. He has industry-specific knowledge across a number of the sectors within which  BTO’s clients operate.

Aaron is a Solicitor Advocate and can represent clients in the Sheriff Courts and Court of Session. He regularly conducts cases in Sheriff Courts throughout Scotland, and manages litigations in the Court of Session.

Experience

Aaron has been involved in various major projects:

• Successfully pursued a debtor on behalf of a company and its principal shareholder for repayment of a £1m loan.
• Advised a housing association on the transfer of its factoring service from a compliance perspective, including policy advice.
• Advised joint liquidators in a Creditor’s Winding Up on pursuing a £400,000 book debt.
• Successfully advised individuals on a complaint to the Financial Services Ombudsman in respect of an insurer’s refusal to pay out under a policy of insurance in relation to a significant property damage claim.
