David Hoey, a partner and accredited employment law specialist, with BTO Solicitors, has been appointed as the Chairman of the IoD for Glasgow and the West of Scotland. He succeeds Laura Gordon, who has been Chair for the past four years, and under whose stewardship the IoD in the West has grown by over 20%.
In taking on the role, David will work with the network of Glasgow members and committee members to support the great potential for growth in Glasgow’s business community.
David says: “Glasgow and the West of Scotland has a very well established and eclectic business sector, with well known companies such as Amazon and Rolls Royce active within the region, alongside significant financial services, shipbuilding, defense, leisure and hospitality markets. I am very pleased to take the lead to help facilitate continuous growth and membership value for Glasgow and west of Scotland’s business community.”

David’s main focus will be on innovation and business success working with central and local government, and members, to ensure that business leaders are equipped to meet the challenges presented by continuous growth and innovation. He is committed to continuing the successful and steady increase in Glasgow and the West’s members and in particular to continue to increased numbers of female business leaders joining the organisation.
