Jilly is a Partner in the Construction and Engineering and Construction Insurance teams. She advises a range of developers, contractors, construction professionals and their insurers on complex construction and engineering disputes. She is described by clients as being a "highly knowledgeable, persuasive negotiator" with "very strong commercial instincts." (Chambers UK)
Her experience is wide and varied, representing clients over the years in disputes involving damage caused by piling activities on construction sites, roof failures on residential and commercial buildings, gable wall collapses, environmental spillages and defective cladding and foundations. She also advises clients on insurance policy interpretation and indemnity issues in respect of construction insurance policies.
Jilly also acts directly for contractors and construction professionals to resolve disputes arising from payment, extensions of time, defects and other such issues which can arise on a construction project. She advises clients on adjudication, litigation and other forms of ADR. She is focussed on looking to secure early stage resolution of disputes to achieve a commercial, cost effective outcome for her clients.
She delivers training and presents seminars for the firm’s Insurance and Construction and Engineering series to audiences of insurer and commercial clients. She has an LLM in Construction Law.
