In July 2019, established Helensburgh legal firm Raeburn Hope joined forces with leading Glasgow and Edinburgh firm, BTO Solicitors LLP. Since then, the progressive city law firm has been taking this successful local business to the next level through a focused recruitment drive and by broadening its service portfolio to include the full range of legal services for families, individuals and businesses through the generations. Clients continue to receive a personal local service whilst benefiting from considerably expanded resources and services back up from the firm’s offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Helensburgh born lawyer, Alastair Hope, set up the existing office in Helensburgh in 1982, providing Court and family services, residential and commercial conveyancing, Wills and estates advice and a range of comprehensive property management and lettings services for landlords and tenants throughout the Helensburgh, Lomond and surrounding area.
After forty years of building the business and meeting the professional needs of local residents, Alastair has announced his retirement at the end of March 2022 to enjoy some well-deserved leisure time.
In relation to his retirement, Alastair commented:
“I am delighted to be handing over the running of the firm and our valued clients to BTO. Since working with everyone at BTO, they have shown nothing but respect and the highest regard for providing an efficient and friendly client service.
“BTO’s partners have a clear vision of how they will continue to support our clients and where they wish to take the business. This has been exemplified by the smooth transition for existing clients over the last few years, and the substantial growth that has been achieved so far, despite the significant practical difficulties brought by the pandemic. BTO’s vision and the continued presence of my fellow partner Kirstine MacRae, who has been an integral part of the firm for almost thirty years, will be invaluable to the prosperous future of this firm.”
David Gibson, BTO’s Chairman, said:
“As part of a full-service law firm, in an ever-changing and challenging world, we strive to continue to provide the best client support we can, on an individual basis, with full resources and quality second to none.
“We have enjoyed working with Alastair and the Helensburgh team to expand the pool of expertise available to our clients locally and beyond, and to enhance the firm’s range of services from the Helensburgh office to include, for example, corporate and commercial matters, commercial property, construction, debt recovery, employment issues and more complex litigation, among others, in addition to the traditional service lines.
“Most importantly, we are pleased to ensure the longevity and sustained growth of this highly respected Helensburgh practice and we wish Alastair all the very best for the future.”
